South Australia welcomes Marco Pierre White

27 April, 2017

Renowned Barossa Valley Seppeltsfield Estate is set to welcome Culinary Icon Macro Pierre White to visit the estate, as part of Tasting Australia.

Pierre White will be joined by estate residents Owen Andrews (Seppeltsfield events executive chef) and David Swain (FINO Seppeltsfield) to lead a $225-a-head Italian feast as one of the opening events of Tasting Australia.

Whilst details of the event’s menu are being tightly held, Tasting Australia ambassador and FINO Seppeltsfield Proprietor Sharon Romeo said that guests would be in for an Italian feast of “generosity and authenticity”.

“Our entire kitchen and front of house team are excited to work alongside Marco for this event - he has been an inspiration to so many chefs who have gone on to be culinary legends of their own”, said Ms Romeo. “We feel so thrilled to have him in our home here at Seppeltsfield”, she added.

This event forms just one of a huge number of tantalising opportunities in Tasting Australia’s program, which runs from Sunday 30th April - 7th May. For the first time, in 2017 the event will spread to the state’s regions, with events being held in the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Barossa Valley in addition to the city.

As part of the festival, the Great Wine Voyage is being held to celebrate Adelaide, South Australia’s membership to the Great Wine Capitals Global Network. The event will invite guests will visit nine of Adelaide’s most vibrant bars, each venue representing one of the world’s Great Wine Capitals and providing blind tastings of international wines alongside some of South Australia’s finest. Guests will be challenged to see if they can pick the local wine from the international wine, with results to be revealed at the conclusion of the event.

International guests from the world’s most famous regions including Bordeaux (including the Network’s own Catherine Leparmentier Dayot), Rioja and Napa Valley, will participate in the event and be on hand to talk to voyagers about the chosen expressions.
